General/Artistic Director Pelham Pearce has chosen a slate for the 2008 Festival featuring the Broadway hit Westside Story, the American classic Susannah and the riveting The Rape of Lucretia. June highlights include: Benjamin Britten's first chamber opera, The Rape of Lucretia running outside of the regular festival season with just six performances from June 6 - 22; a new production of Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story, opening June 28 and running through Aug. 9; and Opera Pops - A Tribute to John Moriarty, headlined by world-renowned opera superstar Denyce Graves on June 17. |
